This will probably create a bunch of problems, if someone uses custom models or content created by someone else and sells it for money how will the divide the money? People will probably just spam some maps with 1 star and bad comments just to piss people off. And how do they know if it is someones orginal work, not just an edited map then reposted?

Well, most user maps will stay free, though some however will jump the gap and get paid for thier work.

this will let companies and other small dev teams that would normally do something else, create high quality content for starcraft.

I'm predicting lot's more quality maps, but at a price. I also predict, if a comercial map is popular enough, fans will make their own free version.

I agree it may encourage the creation of premium maps. and I think its a good opportunity for people who spend tons of time making maps to see a little return on investment, however.. Blizzard is seems to be turning into a money hungry company.. and from the perspective of a player only, you feel cheated by having to buy a 60 dollar game, and 2 expansions ($180 total if expansions are 60) only to STILL have to purchase in game content.. I bet blizzard will take 70% of profit too. greedy bastards

guys stop complaining holy crap.... i map make as well.... not saying my maps will make money cause you know i just do it for fun... but when someone works on a map for like 1 - 2 months almost 3 - 6 hours a day they deserve some money all you cheap losers complaining about it come on.... you cant expect someone to work for about 2 months free.... think alot of sick custom maps will come out if people have a reason to do it example: it could be like a job for some people. the games will be sick.

Like the idea but they better not make us pay for most custom maps. I'm all for supporting independent map creators but at the same time i don't want to pay for something that i could make myself.

I don't like the idea of having to pay for maps. Blizzard is most likely taking a hefty cut. Cuz you know they don't have enough money...

If you create a map it is tied into your account so people cant get your map and add to it and then republish them selves, it will still be displayed with the origanal creator.
