because "dragon" embodies the internal, soft aspect of the system, the spiritual side, what better animal than a spiritual animal to represent it?

Let's not mock the UFC fighters please. They are martial artists the same as us and they have proven to be strong. Maybe not efficient because they are entertainers, but strong nonetheless. Like I said before we are all martial artists and in that sense all family.

So true UFC doesn't have anything on REAL martial art...that's all BULLSHIT a real fighter will fight standing up..not on the FUKIN floor..

All the haters just watch too much UFC. Animal forms are very effective and each has their situational uses in combat. Judging a style from watching a kata is just ignorant. I also hate when people say "Karate is bogus" or "Kung Fu only works in movies" Karate and Kung Fu are just broad terms for Japanese and Chinese martial arts. There are hundreds of styles of Karate and Kung Fu and each of them is unique and has its applications.

@greenbay357 A friend of a friend said that he could make really good tacos. I like Mexican food, so when were all hanging out and he said he was going to make tacos, I was pretty excited. After he made the tacos and I tried one, I found it wasn't very good and was a bit disappointed.
Clearly, the problem lies in Mexican food, not the cook. Right?

@Nikolas100o10oao Thank you for your comment! The animals represented in Hung Gar Kuen's Five Animal set are Dragon, Tiger, Crane, Panther, and Snake.

i was over at Wikipedia looking at the five animal style information and came across this at the beginning of the article "五形 " Does that symbol translate to five animal form? If so how can i get a better version of it ,because i want to draw it on something. thanks

@home5476 Those characters translate as "wu xing" in pinyin, and yes, in that context they would be used to mean "five animals", though that's not a literal translation ("wu" is five and "xing" is something like form or shape). That's according to my admittedly limited understanding of Mandarin.

@MattHungGa The Dragon section of Five Animals is very similar to the Iron Wire set.
