Montreal Impact vs Vancouver Whitecaps, Montreal Impact vs Minnesota Thunder - Peter Byers scores in both games. These are the highlights of both soccer games - Saputo Stade / Stadium 2009.
Update October 2009 - The Montreal Impact has now made it into the finals and Byers is still "an unstoppable force!"
Peter Byers (born October 20, 1984 in Freeman Village) is an Antiguan soccer player who currently plays for Montreal Impact in the USL First Division.
Byers began his career in his native Antigua and Barbuda for SAP FC and had a prolific spell in Trinidad and Tobago with San Juan Jabloteh. He scored 73 goals in 79 league games for SAP in the Antigua and Barbuda Premier Division, and scored 21 goals in 38 games for San Juan Jabloteh in the TT Pro League before moving to the USL.
Byers joined Montreal Impact of the USL First Division in 2008, making 7 appearances and scoring 3 goals. This was enough to impress Major League Soccer club San Jose Earthquakes, who invited him up during the 2009 MLS pre-season. However, he was re-signed by the Impact on 18 February 2009 after failing to agree a contract with the Earthquakes.
Byers made his debut for Antigua and Barbuda in a February 2004 friendly match against Saint Kitts and Nevis and has earned nearly 30 caps since. He played in 5 FIFA World Cup qualification games.
