Using the Honey Stove (from BackPackingLight.co.uk) in woodburning mode to boil water for a brew and fry bacon for breakfast. Temperatures from -7'c to -4'c in the Cairngorms.

  • Hi Akto

How would you rate the new honey against a firespout?

  • Looks fun, but I can't see a firebase. The Honey Stove in 'square mode' needs a home-made firebase too, but the holes are present in the sides to use pegs for this. I'm not sure if they are low enough on the firespout. There isn't always a handy stone to use as a base.

Maybe someone will post a "stove club" comparison?

  • Sweet stove!..I have a modified "dandy little stove" that is 50mm deeper than original and though it works pretty well and can hold my pepsi/trangia burners the Honey will definitely accomodate so many more pots/pans and will hold a bit more solid fuel..good choice sir!!
