Do I need to use different paper to sub a t-shirt than a mug? what type of paper is best for t-shirts?

@benslater2010 Its called sublimation paper and its the same for anything you sublimate.

if i print onto sublimation paper, do I need to cut around the image to avoid any excess transfer paper on the shirt? in other words, will it leave crap around the design if i dont cut the design out?

No, not with sublimation but remember it has to be on white or very light colored shirts.

well what methods do you use heat transfers on dark shirts such as navy blue. For example their are patriotic shirts for sale that are black or dark blue that obviously are not screen printed with emulsion.
