FYI: These turntables were made by Collaro in the UK - the British had their own version with a Collaro branding, but the US ONLY got these Micromatics. The Magnavox was just badging by the US company... They were a superb turntable!
Companies that made stereos used to buy the turntable part pre-assembled from the UK because they were making them reliable and cheaply in the 1960s-1970s.
I would guess that only the turntable part of that unit was made in England and shipped over to the US and then Magnavox and other companies likely mounted it into their units. The amplifier, speaker and everything else is likely US made.
Strange.Always thought Magnavox was an American make, never seen many before here, only a big old console somewhere that they couldn't use as it was wrong voltage etc.
