@loke177 Comedy, action, romance, fantasy. It excels at all those things.

@srg118 ehhh... is this a comedy? action? or horror movie? I mean from the trailer I thought it was an action/comedy trhiler

@loke177 - It's been explained before. Count Rugen said The Machine acts like a suction pump, except it sucks years off a person's life force instead of water: when The Machine is on, Westley's life is sucked away from his body through the suction cups and hoses. Say he would've lived to be 90 years old, now with 1 year gone he'll live to be 89, and so on. I hope that answered your question.

Welcome to University.
I had such a crush on him when I first saw this movie when I was like seven (and even now when I watch it he's still pretty darn hot). But I almost cried when this happened, I felt so sorry for him, now that I'm no longer seven, I like this part of the movie...

There's no electricity. He said it's like a suction pump; instead of sucking water, it sucks away years of life from the person hooked up to The Machine. Kind of like an overgrown vacuum cleaner. In this case, one year's worth of life that Westley would have lived has just been forcibly, and literally, sucked out from him because of The Machine.
Now that Westley's gone, maybe we can get Jon and Kate Gosselin in the Pit of Despair and hooked up to The Machine. Just a suggestion. ;)
