Swinburne Science Show (Part 2 of 3). Circa 1978.
Sections of this part include:
1. A thump from a pump
A demonstration of converting and storing energy. When the lower chamber is opened suddenly, the energy converted from the air pressure is enough to crush a steel pellet.
This is followed by a small chemistry demonstration of changing the colour of liquid like magic, and a puzzling demonstration of a balance.
2. The case of the curious case
A suitcase appears to stay up like magic as it turns on a small platform. This is a demonstration of gyroscopic precession, using a gyroscope mounted inside a suitcase.
3. The moon's a balloon, then
When two balloons are connected and air can flow between them, the balloon with less air curiously deflates and gives its air to the balloon with more air.
