This video was taken December 27, 2006 at Long Lake... just north of Alpena, MI. We haven't had too much snow in Michigan yet this year, but the water temp was about 33 degrees farenheight when we went in. The lake started to ice over as soon as dusk hit.

  • one of our best sports up here, swimming in the freezing cold. that's what were known for, the cold.

  • lol alpena i l;ive here

  • December!!? This is the most decisive evidence of Global Warming I have personally seen! Grew up at Long Lake Trailer Court and the gang of us kids at 12 and 13 yrs. old would ICE SKATE across Long Lake by December! The ice was four to six inches thick by the second week...in December!! (?)

  • my mom is from alpena. in fact she grew up on long lake sort of close to where you people live.

  • its funny........ until someone dies

  • My wife is from Alpena. BRRRR! I never done a polar bear, don't think I could. I am a wuss for cold weather.
