The snow finally melted enough to enter the car, and start it. Stil hasn't been fixed, but it will, most likely this summer, since it probaby will get a new owner. Valves need adjusting (shimming? anyone have video of that?), that is the reason for it beeing so hard to start. + headgasket is still broken :(
definitely - Valves need adjusting, head gasket - why? overheat?

@Pawelnrg because overheat yes. There were some electrical problems with controlling the radiator fan, still the fan worked perfectly if directly wired, but would never start on its own. Never noticed this because the temp guage allso had trouble, and the engine would overheat whithout knowing during stop and idle until it was too late. Still, great engine, just need to keep the alu head cooled and sometimes shimming the valves.

why you don't try to warm up sparsk two times? one, two and then start the engine,

@ambako Just so you know, the glow plugs was manually controlled and were on all the time, but were wired so they automatically swithed off when engine got oil pressure.

diesels sucks in winter time..:/
VictorSeedorsky 1 year ago
@VictorSeedorsky If your diesel wont start in winter time there is something wrong with it. My SAAB 2.2 diesel starts right up, no trouble, even as low as -30*C (-22*F) this winter. We used to have a Tahoe with a 6.5L diesel in it, started right up too. Mitsubishi 2.3 diesel, no problem. However fuel blend is important, the right mix ratio Kerosene and Diesel is important for cold weather, it comes pre-mixed during winter here I live.
