Good video. Just a tip: next video put camera fixed, with a stand (it reduce oscillating).

Did you check out the heat ratings of the caps... there is a whole slew of computer PSU's that have heat ratings on the caps that are barely tolerable.

@meade9166 The higher end ones sometimes do, but most "home grade" power supplies I've used just blew up when they got too hot :-)

@Maxxarcade does a psu have temperature protection?

I use Coolermaster and Zalman PSUs for serious rigs of mine. They have very good coolers and quality components.

@xDarkwish I usually use Gigabyte boards. My current one is the GA-990FXA-UD3. There are cheaper ones if you don't need to run more than one video card, but if you are planning on using one of the new Bulldozer CPU's, the 990FX is probably the way to go. You can look on Newegg and use the advanced search to narrow it down to the options you need, and pick a board from there.
i found a pentium d 3.2 desktop with a busted psu..so i replaced the psu with one from HP pentium d 2.8 desktop....in just two weeks the psu started to malfunction....from the time i plug in the power cord sometime i have to wait 15 seconds before i the computer would turn on...motherboard manual says recommended psu is 350w and 12v should be 19amp...the one in there now is 300w and 12v is 19amp.....its just a basic websurfing desktop...does that 50w shortage making the power supply malfunction?

@EvendimataE The power supply you used might have been worn out already. If a bigger one doesn't solve the problem, check the motherboard for blown capacitors too.
