Why the hell would they make a hub at an airport that has flight distance restrictions, especially when they are already committing $1.3B to a new facility at JFK, with no such restrictions. Flights in and out of LGA are restricted to destinations of 1500 miles or less. This does not seem to make sense at all.
@ronquillo2554 Not any more, sadly. Delta will be the largest airline in the NYC market. With having a hub in 2 of the 3 NYC airports, and operating a hand full of flights, including a few international, from the 3rd (Newark).
@amandab33nyc There will be less US Airways flights, they will still have flights to their hubs and the shuttle but that is it. @DeltaAirLines I saw the press release, I thought US Airways was assuming the Marine Terminal at LGA?

@hepurdy3 Absolutely not. You will never see a legacy carrier (American, Delta, United) drop bag fee's. It generates a great deal of money.
