Heart of my Heart -- Mitch Miller & the Gang

And 20 years later, they were at it again. I think this was from a 20th anniversary reunion special. Bob McGrath (by then on Sesame Street) looks like he's having fun back with "that gang that sang Heart of My Heart." I wish I had the rest of the show, but this was one I downloaded last time it was on youtube--if I recall, it was posted by tvcollector.

What a great man! For decades I didn't give him much thought. Now I'm born again - realizing the special wit and good music of Mitch Miller.

Like so many, I had a lot of fun singing along with Mitch before I was old enough to attend school.  Imagine my suprise when 9 years ago I began passing him on the street on my way to work. He moved pretty fast untill a couple years ago but was still to be seen sunning himself outside his apartment. I shook his hand and referred to him as a legend. He said "That and 50 cents will get you on the subway".
