@sparx2k9 He sure did. People don't see the cut body on Ali, and assume he and boxers of his era lacked the scientific training regimens that current boxers have. Jack Dempsey needed only 10" to generate KO power in a punch...I think those guys were trained fine.

Ali's speed was freakish, you never see flurries like his in HW anymore, moving backwards at that! I didn't like the boasting, but he backed it up. Now its heartbreaking to see him, wish he hadn't taken all those punches now.

@carmodifire Nortan broke Alis jaw in their fight, angelo dundee said said it happened early on in ther match. Imagine fighting 8 rounds with a broken jaw and only lose by UD, a broken jaw in boxing seems alot worse then a hurt back. Ali became friends with everyone he fought. Fazier even became friends with Ali after all of the things he said about him.

@sparx2k9 Yeah, and Patterson hurt his back early in the fight, would be better otherwise. Ali and Patterson became friends of sorts, later. Even Joe Louis said that, many years later, he was proud of Ali.

@carmodifire Everyone one has their opinions such as in this video before he fought Patterson he said Patterson is slow and that he is just gonna run rings around him and guess what he did. Joe Luis even called him "cruel and selfish" after the fight because Ali was just punishing Patterson, he said he could have KO'ed anytime he wanted.

@rydeoride Seems like you dont know what your talking about. Tyson had the fastest hooks and uppercuts for a natural HW, compare him to other HW. He didnt have the fastest jabs or straight though. No ANYONE can dance around the ring, some are just better then others. Roy Jones can dance around the ring and so can David Haye but there not as good as Ali. So you have to be a welterwieght to dance around the ring? What so a brawler can only be found in the HW division?

@mizofan I know Tyson wouldnt KO Ali. Tyson is the ONLY person who has KO'ed Holmes though, albiet he was out of his prime, considering Holmes fought people like Tommy Morrison and Riddick Bowe afterwards. Thing is out of every boxer in history Tyson is the most controversial because there is alot of "what if" going around him. Tyson has got alot of praise from people like Angelo Dundee who said "He throws combinations I never saw before. I was stunned". Hes the most explosive boxer

@sparx2k9 Ali was out of the ring in his prime years, the 1970s comeback Ali was slower and couldn't dance as long as before, whereas Tyson in his (very short?) prime couldn't ko Tillis, Green, Smith or Tucker and then lost to Douglas. There have been other better heavyweights than Tyson- i don't know why so many people like to put Tyson up against Ali. Tyson never beat a true great in prime, when the going got tough he couldn't cope- Ali wouldn't have made it easy for him, never got ko'd!
