Local and county govts DO part-take in over seeing and investing with fire and police depts (community investment to the general public vicinity). But not for long! .... at one point, ambulance services were once part of a budget service for local and county govts and most that I personally see today are PRIVATE owned. (find out how much it 'll cost you to ride in one if needed! ) Thom is on the mark while Chris is bellowing out the same propaganda crap regarding privatizing (i'm not fooled)
