This is a short video of the workings of our school production of Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet St.
I think we would've found it useful to have some insight of how to put on the production on a scale such as a school, before we started. This is why I created this video; just as an example of what we did, and how it was set up.

The set consisted of a scaffold frame, with two flats on the top, and one which was specially made with a trap door. As you can see in the video, the slide underneath the barber's chair was just a bit of wood, with reinforcements.
All the decoration; doors, walls, etc, are painted plastic, which had been vacuum formed.

Lighting was programmed on Zero 88's Leapfrog 48 desk. Special fixtures include,
- 10x MAC 250

One hazer was used, and two smoke machines; one in the oven, one for under the stage.

  • awesome! looks like your school has it well put together!

i would love for my School to do Sweeney, but its such a difficult musical to do, do you have more vids of it?

  • Thanks. There is a video of the whole production, but I'd be annoying people who wish to make money out of it, if I published it on here!

It took a load of work from new head of drama, she did a fantastic job; best production in our school for a long time!
