@LlehctimmitchelL You mean the retainer to hold the eyelids open? Not much sensation under the eyelids and local anaesthetic should take care of it, but you may feel a little pressure there..

@jock10171017 Do you feel the 'hook' on your eye at all? Or does the anaesthetic take care of that as well?

You are awake during the procedure but you have local anaesthetic drops in the eye that totally numb the eye, and you will also have some light sedation (i.e. Valium) to help you feel relaxed. It barely takes 10 minutes so as long as you can lay still for that long, 99.9% of patients have no complaints. The laser itself does not hurt and you shouldn't feel pressure or burning either. Main problems with this operation is a small number can get excessive glare post-operatively and see "haloes".
