scanning samples of Data Matrix on translucent material with metal backing

material is a semi-translucent form with a black Data Matrix molded directly in. the part is placed on a metal plate. By positioning the reader at 90 degrees instead of 15, the metal plate will reflect the specular light back into the sensor. This helps minimize contrast of the translucent material, while the contrast of the Data Matrix remains. Reader is using a 30 degree lens and is about 100mm from the code surface .
