  • I have several analog tapes of Johnny and Foster recorded live in the Crawford Grill in Pittsburgh. As soon as they are converted to digital, I will post them here. No one has ever heard them outside the Grill before and that is a shame.

  • @waltsimsjr OH that will be an epic and historic move if you did that.... would be awesome... ;)

  • There was an article in our paper today about how his widow couldn't afford to get him a headstone. It's a shame! This man was genius through and through. I was born in Springfield, Ohio and remain here to this day and live right by the cemetery where he is buried. This man is a legend and should be honored with a hell of a headstone so we can find him to pay our respects for his genius.

  • Wow thats a shame, do you have any info about her name? or link to the newspaper?

  • @agustinflores91 -- That's an excellent question, assuming you uphold a relatively narrow and succinct definition of 'vibe.' My suggestion-list crosses the gammut with an array of bands like Sea Level, Full Moon, Walter Fagan, etc- under my YouTube that playlist is called "Rhythm & Roots."

  • anybody know songs with a similar vibe?

  • YES, THE CRAWFORD GRILL. LOTS OF GREAT JAZZ, i AM FROM PGH, ALWAYS HAD A GOOD TIME AT THE CRAWFORD. NOTHING LIKE IT TODAY.......

  • @trademark1874 I HAVE THE ARTICLE, HIT ME UP ~~~~

  • @petite1998 THEY DID GET HIM ONE FINALLY ~~~<3

  • @waltsimsjr WOW... I PLAYED WITH JOHNNY AFTER JIMMY FOSTER, & PLAYED @ CRAWFORD'S GRILL. THAT'S WHERE WE WERE PLAYING WHEN HE HAD HIS CAR ACCIDENT... GOT A FEW PICS FOR BACK IN THE DAY ON MY FACE BOOK PAGE. THX ~~~~<3

  • if an avenue is named after him in his hometown, the town official should take care of the tombstone or a stonemason can do one ex gratis.jazz musicians give us so much and get so little in return, whilst those that give us brain damage like the crap on the airwaves presently make a fortune.thats a bad deal.

  • this song is best than the original song yeah
