  • This is so dumb. Alcohol holds these same risks. And honestly, probably worse ones. No one has died from marijuana OD. But there have been many from alcohol. Alcohol holds worse physical addictions than marijuana. Marijuana doesn't even have physical addiction or withdrawal. When you're drunk you make stupid decisions. When you drive drunk it's dangerous too. But at least while high you are cautious and not all over the road. I feel marijuana should be legal, if an even dangerous substance is.

  • @MrAWebb1 You make a good point, there are many serious risks to abusing alcohol – a greater chance of certain cancers, stroke, and liver disease; impaired brain function and motor skills; and the possibility of becoming addicted. It is the impaired brain function and motor skills that make driving under the influence of alcohol so dangerous. But, drugged driving can be just as dangerous as drunk driving.

  • @MrAWebb1 A recent analysis of multiple DUI studies (i.e., a meta-analysis) affirms that marijuana use is associated with an increased risk of motor vehicle crashes – especially fatal ones. To your other point – long-term marijuana use can be physically addictive. About 1 in 6 people who start using marijuana in their teens eventually become addicted. Among daily users, the number increases to 25-50 percent.

  • @DrazhiHD Another medication, Sativex, contains THC and cannabidiol derived from cannabis plants. Sativex is delivered by a mouth spray. It is approved for use in Canada and the UK, and is currently undergoing FDA testing in the U.S. New medications that affect the cannabinoid system (where THC and other cannabinoids act) are being developed, but by no means is THC in “basically every other drug.”

  • @DrazhiHD you are right that THC is in medicine, but it’s not smoked as medicine. For example, Marinol is an FDA-approved medication made from synthetic (man-made) THC that is used to relieve nausea and vomiting in cancer patients and to help reverse severe weight loss in patients with AIDS. It is delivered in pill form.

  • i think BroStoner was referring to "only" smoking Marijuana, because there have been no recorded deaths from "only" smoking marijuana but it youre right about the impaired driving deaths

  • @NIDANIH ....thc is also in medecine and basically every other drug. You do understand that, right? Or are you too busy angry at Marijuana even thought the reason it is illegal is because in the early 1900's, cotton farmers got mad at hemp farmers because they were too good competition. Get your facts straight. P.S You got schooled by a 15 y/o

  • @BroStoner Not quite true - because marijuana impairs judgment and motor coordination and slows reaction time, someone driving high has a greater likelihood of being responsible for an auto accident. In fact, a recent survey found that 6.8 percent of drivers who were involved in accidents tested positive for THC. Marijuana is the most common illegal drug found in drivers who die in accidents (14 percent), sometimes in combination with alcohol or other drugs.

  • How many teenagers have died from smoking marijuana?....oh that's right, none.

  • Risky Sexual Behavior? "o Honey.. where did you put that joint..?"
