ANCHOR:
North Korea has removed U.N. nuclear watchdog monitors, seals and cameras from its shutdown atomic bomb-producing complex. The countrys communist regime is planning to reintroduce nuclear material there in a week's time.

STORY:
Last Friday North Korea said it is working to reactivate the Yongbyon reactor complex. It was being taken apart as part of a disarmament-for-aid deal.

[Melissa Fleming, IAEA Spokeswoman]:
"There are no more seals and surveillance equipment in place at the reprocessing facility. (North Korea) further stated that from here on, IAEA inspectors will have no further access to the reprocessing plant."

Western diplomats and nuclear analysts say North Korea will need at least several months and probably more time to restart the largely dismantled complex.

  • They recently showed that they aren't capable of launching a 2 stage rocket, which any amateur can do. Are we really afraid they might build a nuclear weapon?
