You read your manual again. If "engage and run the mower deck at full throttle" is in your manual... You should see at least a comma between the words engage and run...
Your NOT going to find engage PTO clutch with engine at full throttle.
However, to "explain" please view your manual OR The Principles of Classical Mechanics, Newtons second and third laws of Motion will explain why NOT to engage at full throttle. The first and second show why to RUN at full throttle. enjoy.
@45von . perhaps you can explain why both engine manufacturers and mower manufacturers have suggested to engage and run the mower deck at full throttle. Since you seem to be all know'd up on this, why don't you tell us what bad thing occur from engaging a deck at full throttle.
The fact that you can do something WRONG repeatedly, and think you are having no issues, That is the reason NOT to do it RIGHT instead.... BRILLIANT...
@45von Or you can engage the deck just as he did in the video and it will last for decades. My dad has a Craftsman mower that's well over 20 years old and we've always engaged the deck at full throttle and we've had no issues.
I might suggest...

Save some money...
Notice there is a throttle on that mower?
Learn to use it , BEFORE you engage the deck... Throttle DOWN.
Do it correctly it will work for DECADES...
