CCTV Appeal For Cheltenham Assault
Cheltenham Police are continuing their investigation into two assaults in a town centre night club at the end of last year by releasing CCTV footage of the incident.
Footage of the assaults, which happened at Prom Club on the Promenade on Sunday November 8 2009, can be seen on the Gloucestershire Constabulary page on social networking website; Facebook and on YouTube.
The incident happened at approximately 1.30am and the footage shows a man in a white checked shirt headbutt a Cheltenham man. He can then be seen to punch a 27-year-old Bristol man in the face, causing him to fall to the floor. The victim suffered a cut nose, two black eyes, and a cut to his lip and to his head in the incident.
The footage also shows images of the man police would like to speak to dancing in the club prior to the incident.
Sergeant Julia Martin-Jones said; "All incidents of assault are taken incredibly seriously and a number of lines of enquiry have been followed as part of our investigation but we are now turning to the public with enhanced CCTV footage for their help in identifying the man in the footage."
Police have slowed down the footage and the man they are hoping you can help identify has been circled.
This man, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to contact Gloucestershire Constabulary on 0845 090 1234 quoting incident number 49 of November 8 2009. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
