@bollo3000 How does your argument in any way relate to the legality of abortion? Agreed we have to try to save the children who are already on this planet. That however doesn't give you the right to ignore the plight of the unborn children.
Obviously, these guys have no idea of the power of the "internets". Internet actions gets the message across to a much broader audience than a protest in a street corner. I'm not downplaying those protests. Both are required to bring about change in legislation. Street protests gives a sense of authenticity while internet ones spreads rapidly.
QUOTES: "We are reminded that even supposed political victories are temporary, and that the solution to these problems is not political, even if we have to keep up the political fight and our activist efforts," said Fr Euteneuer. "We are called to prayer, fasting and conversion... only God can put a stop to the horror of abortion now."
"That's really where this battle will be won -- on our knees in prayer and fasting," said Bachmann. "Remember: faith without works is dead... --Michele Bachmann.
Pat--I agree with you, and see the following quotes; if you happen to be in the Chicagoland area, and know of any PPPPs (Planned Parenthood Prayer Protests) I'd like to participate. I marched a couple weeks ago in Aurora, and recited the rosary for anyone that wished to join in while we were marching. The leader of the event, who IS a Catholic, feels, I believe, it is not an all-inclusive prayer, yet, of course, other Christian faiths are surely welcome to pray for life through Our Lady. [cont.]
A very high proportion of embryos don't survive past the early stages of development, often before a woman even knows she is pregnant. If these are human beings why would God kill so many people before they even have the chance to be born?
There are thousands of mothers around the world every day with children who they desperately want to live dying in their arms, if people really wanted to do good they would focus their efforts on helping them.
The pro lifers need to unite not start a thousand different groups vying for attention and money. The virtual protest is weak and cowardly, sorry, but it's true. I know that hurts your FEELINGS.
In other words, do as much as you can. Do a virtual march in ADDITION to something else. Don't neglect something you can do in order to get off easy. But don't criticize other pro-lifers for doing something you personally think is ineffective. Prayer is VERY effective, but how often do you hear people urge you to pray? Not mentioned here. Don't tear down AUL. Encourage people to do many things. Let's stop criticizing each other and save our criticism for abortion.
Nobody is suggesting a virtual protest should take the place of something you can do. It really irritates me when one pro-lifer is critical of another pro-lifer for doing something different. Yes, street protest is important, IF you can do it. But I think David Bereit is right. We won't win this in government. We will win it with prayer. You rarely get much coverage for protests. Talking women out of abortion one at a time also destroys the abortion movement. Rob them of their customers. Cont.
They used to do The March of Dimes to help crippled children, now they just kill the babies, nobody cares about these innocents, they have even used them in face creams. Planned Parenthood is building a huge abortion mill in Texas. Abortion is not birth control & should never be like that. People don't think about sex the way God intended it, Hollywood makes you think it's just physical fitness & fun. Personal responsibility needs to return. The young are risking their mental & physical health.
Terry, you are a prick
