Practical effects can be just as terrible if it's done on the cheap and fast (see any number of cheapo horror movies from the 80's). CGI can be great when used correctly, given enough time and budget to polish. Problem is a lot of today's CGI is done on a rush.

and oh ya it was till the 90,s people really worked hard to make a real life charactor tru real man made materials and not like now, everything is just tru computer animation...

when i was like 7 when this movie came out, this slimer scard me, it was to creepy...if you guys were born in the early 80,s, everything was so wierd, everything possible, crazy ridilous movies...lol...
