Don't worry Elliott I'd buy your stuff instead of Ultimatum!!!! Matt Fraction does deserves to have a book in the top 10, not Jeph Loeb. What I want in a comic is a balance between action and good characterization. Which is what Matt Fraction is doing in Invincible Iron Man right now. Great discussion as usual. Keep up the good work guys!

you guys may not get the most views compared to some other reviewers on youtube, but your discussions, both on the show and on the message board, are far beyond other shows. I see respectful, intelligent conversation here that isn't going on anywhere else on youtube. Keep up the good work.

at 35 yrs old I personally want to see a movie in a comic.
I want my characters to look like indivisuals i can tell apart regardless of what costume/outfit they are in.
I want motivation, depth and a reason for what they are doing.
I want my action scenes to progress the story to a natural ending.
I want to care about the story & characters together.
Relevance & coherence.
Is that too much to ask for?

honestly guys, i'm not sure sales boil down to what people want in terms of content, more often than not it's what the big two says is 'important' that drives sales. hence the atrocity that is ultimatum taking number three...

I guess I understand why it feels like there's a push to have a greater sense of politics in the Marvel world being as it's based on the real world. What I really want to see are comic book heroes being heroes and not having to go into dark places all the time. Nowadays it seems like every two arcs the main character of a book is being pushed to their breaking point. I want good hero vs. bad guy stories.

I agree with LEGOcinema15 and Zip Block Bloody on how politics has come into comic books, which is bad and Ultimatum is so bad, that It makes me sick. Matt Fraction FTW
extras, good stuff
the uk version of the office is by far the best

Havent been able to get into INVINCIBLE. it looks like a quality book but the art & spandex aspect doesnt do it for me.
I can get into any superhero stuff other than the basics i grew up with.
Into books more geared for my age group these days.
Not saying INVINCIBLE is a kiddies book.

Well, if you can somehow get over those hangups I think you would dig the book. I really think it has everything you listed that you are looking for in a comic. It has a classic superhero comic feel. Just my opinion though.

What I want from a comic book is something to escape to, I mean I am getting sick of comic books becoming so Political and so realistic it's boring. Also Blood and gore is cool and all but it should not take over completely. I mean blood and gore is good when it is done in a tasteful manner.
Whatever happen to just picking up a comic book and enjoying it? Nowadays you have to research, go back and read Tie in titles just to get what is going on if you are behind.
