  • Wonder if we sat close to each other?

  • I was there for that race. Domination was an understatement. That race was the subject of one of my grammar papers (we didn't call them English papers back then) later that year. Love the lights of the roller coaster outside turn four in the video.

  • I'm pretty sure me and my dad were at that race. I was 12 years old at the

time. I'm 52 now. How time flies.

  • I use to come here with Peggys dad Doyle to hang out in the pits with the rest of the Anderson M&M Racing Team back in 69 70 & 71. How could we have let this track die.

  • no its not gone yet.....vote to save it aug 4th 2011...dont let metro take this too.......

  • Great video. Wished I could find more of these. That idiot mayor Karl Dean is going to tear it down. There's still a small fight going on to keep the track, but I'm sure it's gone this time. What a waste of history and a great shame. And a great loss to the racing community. I can't afford to drive to another asphalt track, so I guess I have to go back to dirt.

  • Petty practically owned the Fairgrounds for a few years. He won several there and was hard to beat. I didn't like him at that time, On the track at least! Off the track, he was the nicest guy you could hope to meet. That was a pretty car too. No STP Red yet, just Petty blue!

  • @cartman0804 Yes, it used to be and is again called the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville. At one time it was the Music City Motorplex.
