In a recent interview with CNBC's Maria Bartiromo, Gov Palin was asked if she'd want to be McCain's running mate.

Notice her body language (the smile immediately disappears from her face, and she averts her gaze, reflecting her indecision) as she eventually says she feels she'd be more effective as Alaska's Governor vs McCain's VP.

Realize this interview was taped only (4) days BEFORE McCain announced her as his running mate. Such indecision right up to the last minute?

Can you imagine going on a job interview with a major corporate firm and telling the interviewer your heart wasn't really in the new job, or that you think you'd be more effective in your old position vs the one you're applying for? There's NO way you'd ever get OFFERED the job, showing even a moment's hesitation or indecision like that ("I keep going over and over it").

So why exactly should we vote for a ticket where the would-be VP PUBLICLY expresses reservations over her DESIRE and DRIVE to do the job? Are voters being asked to employ a lower standard vs. corporate America? Methinks McCain is trying to play the 'gender card', trying to pick up disaffected supporters of Hillary in a calculated move. If true, it seems Obama WAS right: McCain is playing politics as usual, and truly doesn't "get it".

Remember, the old saying about the VP being a heart-beat away from the Oval Office is no trite slogan: after all, McCain is not exactly a spring chicken (unlike Obama, where the odds of the much-more-experienced Sen. Biden having to step in at a moment's notice seems less likely).
