In france it means " hi" . we consider ourselves in a kind of family , we re not like the other drivers. we are bikers :)

These waves don't work in the UK due to the throttle being at the right. I'll try Mordeths wave when the snow clears.

I ride a motorcycle because I like to ride. I rode metric bikes for years and now I ride a hog. I don't wear anything that says H-D and I have a friggin' yellow full face helmet because i like to be seen in traffic.
I wave to everybody. Sometimes it's the cool official two fingers down to the side and sometimes it's my full hand flapping in the air like a little girl. If for some reason I can't take my hands off of the bars, I will give a head nod. Give me a break, all these rules are bullshit.

Most around here throw their wave out to the side and down. Less attention from car drivers. I drive a scooter(400cc and sporty though) and even the hardcore HD guys will wave at me. Took me a while to become comfortable enough to do the full wave back.

I wave at anything with two wheels and a motor if the traffic isn't too demanding. BTW, the Beach Boys sure sounded good.

Jeez buddy take a break. We're not gangsters, waving isn't about respect. It is showing the other riders you actually see them on the road.
I wave at anything with two wheels; scooters, bicycles, little kids on big-wheels, even other motorcycles.
I generally assume that if someone *doesn't* wave they're too scared to take their hands off the handlebars. I guess that's you jetboy.
