MSC, the company that is part of Geneva-Sorrento shipowner Gianluigi Aponte, has commissioned a number of shipyards in the Far East 66 containerships. Reveal the sources of the sector. The total investment amounted to 3 billion dollars, equivalent to almost 2 billion euros. Mediterranean Shipping Company currently has 368 ships available, amounting to 1,214,000 TEUs (units of cargo equivalent to a twenty-foot container). The new vessels have a payload of 660mila Teu. Aponte has been building new ships, despite having just signed an agreement with Danish Maersk competitors and the French CMA-CGM to manage all the trades that carry freight from China to the United States. The agreement, which will start from next month, aims to stem the rising fuel costs and make exports cheaper to the eastern U.S. because of declining American economic crisis underway.
