That is what Marshalls are supposed to sound like! these new JCM 800 and 900 just don't cut it man, they don't.

I have exactly the same amp, I bought it in 1981. Serial No. 07853L i,e. 1977.
I use a half Quad box now for smaller gigs with 2 celestians - got the impedence changed to 8 ohms. Still it sounds pretty close to this with my 1964 L series Strat. Best combo guitar sound ever! Never looked for any other sound in 30 years, why would you!!

MY gear: Les Paul copy + 15 Watt amp!! Maybe I got low self esteem? Play for 22 years now but somehow always thought my playing is not worthy expensive equipment. Good enough to impress friends that don't play, but now I have to start saving money for a GibsonSG and that BIG Marshall thingy!!! Grüße aus Frankfurt/M.
