It's the very serious part of Cass Elliot discography, when finally, she cut a tag from herself "Mama". She hated been called "Mama Cass". She wanted more than anything to be Cass Elliot.
This TV Special is fantastic cabaret style, evening show.
A wonderful entertainer, wonderful singer. Well, extraordinary woman. Just don't forget, don't call Her 'Mama' anymore ;)

Your right, and it pisses me off when people always say this about her. She had heart troubles. It's so sad how people start rumors, and speak ill of the dead. Cass is my favorite singer and idol. I think she was beautiful just the way that she was. I'll tell ya what ................ She wasn't fake like this puke faced, skinny pencil women with artificial breasts running around these days trying so hard to be beautiful. They are so fake. By the way. This is a great slide. who knows where cass would have gone next? she always prefered show tunes and broadway stuff..following the huge success of her final London concert she was inundated with offers for film and TV roles. bloody crying shame. I shared the world with her for only one day...she passed away the day after I was born

Just as she was really coming into her best work to date it ended. No more "Bubblegum" music, but the songs and styles she always wanted to do. Such a tragic loss. Who knows how far and how long that star would have shone!

Why are people still calling her "mama" on here if she felt so strongly about NOT being called that?  I think it's disrespectful to keep calling her that knowing how she felt about it.
