Oama-blk eyes 1080p 4.3g

I was testing out a new color today in the 1/2 oz. and got lucky with a nice Omilu. I was bummed I couldn't release'm. The fish inhaled the lure and was in the roof of his mouth deep. The poor guy bled out when I remove the hook. I should've crimped the barbs down to facilitate a more gentle release.

Mahalo. The set up is braid to mono and then to a Macmahon snap swivel. I use a Bimini to double the line, then a Uni-Uni to connect the Seaguar Fluorocarbon leader (3-4'), then the snap with a Palomar. As far as retrieve patterns, I consider each cast and retrieve like a brushstroke on a watery canvas. Mix it up as much as possible and move to a different location after a few casts.
