Grandmaster Karriem ABdAllah (Red Belt) is the Founder of The "K. A. System of Karate" and the FIRST AFRICAN-AMERICAN to create his own system of Karate based on non-asian tradition in November 1967 in Newark, New Jersey. Grandmaster Karriem ABdAllah was the FIRST AFRICAN-AMERICAN to give himself a "Red Belt" which is the 10th Degree Black Belt (Judan) on November 10, 1970 as the highest rank in the "K. A. System of Karate" being the "Al-Mu'assis" (Founder) of the system. Grandmaster Karriem ABdAllah was the FIRST AFRICAN-AMERICAN to start training his students to "MUSIC and combining boxing movements with the music in 1967, when that practice was unheard of as being "NON-TRADITIONAL" in the karate world. The K. A. System of Karate consists of seven (7) styles, and eighteen (18) in-between styles, all in one system. The K. A. System of Karate is based in Newark, New Jersey and produced some of the finest fighters and breakers of all time in "Mudarris" Nashid Abdul Wasi, Jerry "Wazr" Stewart, Happy "Robot" Crump, Earl Thompson, Clarence "Mix Up" Boone, Robert "Mr. Graceful" Wright, Mylo "Bouncer" Thompson, Kevin "Little KA" Thompson and Omar ABdAllah. Karriem ABdAllah has also been a professional boxing trainer for former Light-Heavyweight champion of the world Eddie Mustafa Muhammad (Eddie Gregory) and former world title contender Eddie "Yaqui" Lopez. Karriem AbdAllah has also been a promoter for many years of professional boxing matches, kickboxing matches and hard point karate matches throughout the state of New Jersey.
