I was on that very train both to London and back. How the bloke on board with the horn ever made it all the way to Brighton without having his horn shoved up his jacksi I will never know. A great day if it weren't for that twit!!!

I see the headcode there is 14. I remember seeing a video of the Sussex Slammer, but it had the headcode 51/52 (I cant remember which) which is Alton-London Waterloo on a SWT line. Peculiar!

How many slammers are now in use as charter trains, or on/at preserved railways?

As tourist i'd use the trains several times. I think I'll miss them.

Nice vid. These trains were half decent before Connex got hold of them and let them go to ruin. I still preferred a CIG or a CEP though for draught free travelling!
just want to say the slam door train wer not called southern, they were calld connex south central from start to end,

you are wrong, the trains may have been in connex livery, but they ran for Southern at the end as connex south central lost the franchise for the sussex route.
