Playing The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword has been a continuous struggle as the Wiimote motion control calibration keeps fucking up. This game is unplayable by my standards.

  • I don't hate motion controls because they're unresponsive, I hate them because no matter what I will look like a fucking retard waving my hands around like I'm in the Special Olympics. That's why I hate Kinect, Move and Wii. Motion control was just made to piss off gamers who actually want their games to work.

  • @MiSsToX1c True story

  • You're pretty stupid man... there's a crate in that area which you stand on top of to get all three eyes open, and when you say the controls aren't working, make sure you don't have the fucking shield out, the motion controls aren't supposed to be dominant when you are in defense mode. Bring Link to offense mode and it'll work. I don't understand how you've played this game for 5 hours and still don't know how the shield and sword work.

    You're pretty fucking stupid, man.

  • @JFGBD I've already beaten the game... And I was well aware of the crate for the third eye above. The point I was trying to make is the control has to be constantly re-calibrated. Motion control (in its current iteration) is a stupid gimmick just like "3D" horseshit the industry is trying to shove down our throats.

  • the PS3 move is worse-TRUST ME! lol

  • @Desyncronized I've tried out the move at a Best Buy and I wasn't impressed with it at all.

  • The bottom line is Nintendo better give us options next time on how we would rather play...simple solution. Don't bother replying with typical shit like "ohh they can't because it's designed this way for motion controls" I don't give a fuck about that lame old excuse. Nintendo are apparently innovators in the gaming industry and they can't give simple options on how us the gamer would rather play. Shit state of affairs from Nintendo. Get it sorted

  • @Desyncronized i have move it is not bad but it isn't great but works better than wii mote but it sucks whan it is on low on power. and sports champoins for ps3 is bad i feel cheated all a time

  • 1. Your example of the 3 eyes is pointless because you aren't doing the puzzle correctly, no amount of controls will make those eyes spin until you move the crate

    2. Even pro players who have traditionally hated the motion controls have enjoyed and gotten used to Skyward Swords motion controls. There's no lack of sensitivity that prevents you from doing anything your attempting

    3. The sensor bar has no effect on your in game movement at all, all it does is automatically recalibrate your controls

  • Controls have been making me rage too, but try using your wrist more, if you just move the controller around without changing the angle nothing will happen. But you are right the Motion Controls make the game a constant battle and frustration to deal with.

  • it's "controls" (it is plural not singular)

  • I honestly don't see HOW all of you have any trouble with this stuff. The only time I EVER need to recalibrate the dam thing is when I turn the controller on... and when I swap battery packs mid game.

Now, I'm not a big fan of Motion Control myself, But for games like Zelda, Its great addition. If a game isn't working correctly, Its most likely piss poor programming. AND Since I blew through the game in 30 hours, and had no trouble.

    Well, Have a Nice Day.

  • Hahaha you do look like a jackass @ 1:31. Still, I'll admit the controls gave me some problems too. I had to re-synchronize the Wii+ every 10 minutes, and the controls are sometimes off as you demonstrated. However, you just gotta learn how the controls work. For example, your circular motions need to be smaller and more aimed towards the screen. I learned to get most of my swings to synch perfectly, but the fact that I had to learn this shows that motion controls are inefficient.
