wow, you had so many hatchlings without the drying out process? thats great! your adult triop is beautiful. i'm getting my triops in about two weeks. i hope i have this much luck with my kit. thx for sharing :D

Triops make me think of Spore.

They're similar to the regular fairy shrimp, but larger and they have a large armor plate over their head. They're not very different from each other.

Do you need sand for triops to lay eggs?

@Germinator001 Not at all. As long as the water is kept in good condition and they are well fed, they'll lay eggs. I had larger fish tank gravel in this tank so that the eggs actually sank down into the crevices, where they couldn't be picked up and eaten. I had many of those eggs hatch while in the crevices and the hatchlings would hide in the rocks to avoid being eaten by the adults and other hatchlings.

@rayman604 : The spot to the left of the triops was an air bubble on the side of the tank.
