Go the birdcatchers. Thanks for uploading.
My father was in the RSG in WW2 and shortly after war they held a tattoo near Luneberg Heath with "liberated" grey horses and the band was mounted - perhaps for the last time?
Are those "trews" they are wearing or do the bandsmen have really skinny legs? RSG were granted the right to wear trews rather than kilts at some time.

Rare Footage of the Band, Pipes & Drums of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards in Italy during the 1980s. The band marches on to "Pentland Hills" followed by a typical pipe band medley played during these years that include tunes such as "The Gypsies Dance" and 'The Mason's Apron" among others. Both bands reform and counter-march to "The Earl of Mansfield" and "Liberation Polka" Fine example of how both bands worked together.

@drummajor2000 I look forward to it. Thanks for the information as well. My history of various 'regimental' (perhaps divisional is a more accurate term now perhaps, alas) bands is hazy.

I would never have assumed that regiments outside of the Household Division would still have their own regimental bands as late as '85! Fantastic stuff.
in 1993 the 7 bands of the Scottish devision amalgamated into 2. One highhland and one Lowland band. The Greys went up in the Dragoonband. The last performance of the massed Scots bands was at the Edinburgh tattoo. I will upload the video soon.
