Changes in the Papal Coat of Arms

The papal crest that hangs from Benedict the Sixteenth's window is sporting a new design this week. That was before and this is now. We still don't know if the changes are definitive or if it's just one version of the papal coat of arms.

@LloydieBaltazar another delusional troll. The Pope is not the only one with Black Moor King in his coat of arms. Why did so many noble family have black Moor in the crest? This makes absolutely no sense. The Catholic did not need to have a Black King Moor to convert anyone. Tthe Moor represented the black Moors who were noble and revered. At least if you are going to troll, come up with better reasoning because the nobles were not trying to convert blacks when they had Moors on their crest.

1. Popes are referred to by name & number - not by surname: there was no "Pope Barberini", only Pope Urban VIII

2. That thing was not a "design", but a coat of arms. What next, "the Papal logo" ?

Why can't people get thse things right, FCOL ? And why couldn't the heraldry of the Pope's coat of arms be correct the first time ? It really is sloppy to blunder like this :( Odd, that a Pope who won't tolerate sloppy offering of the Mass is sloppy about something as important as heraldry

The triple tiara is his right, he is a monarch and a spiritual leader. He must wear the crown and bring back tradition .

I often thank the lord for Pope Benedict. He gives me such faith, such inspiration in everything he does. He is living proof that the gates of hell will not prevail against this Church.

The bear is for St. Corbinian, first bishop of Munich; of which the Pope was Archbishop before election to the Papacy. Many Saintsare credited with taming ferocious animals - St.Corbinian's animal, was a bear :)

As for the other; I don't know, sorry.

It's usual, when a bishop becomes Pope, for him to join the coat of arms of his former bishopric to those of the Papacy.
