Welcome to the second of three reviews from Metalder's Ghost Bank Series (ゴーストバンクシリーズ). Up for review today is Ghost Bank Series 2: Side Phantom (ゴーストバンクシリーズ2: サイドファントム)

Side Phantom is Metalder's personal motorcycle. The motorcycle had become a important fixture in Metal Hero shows through this series before it was ditched a year later in Sekai Ninja Sen Jiraiya and ultimately became glorified dirt bikes in series beyond that. So how does this toy Side Phantom fare?

As I mentioned in the previous review, Metalder toys make up a wide collection called the "Ghost Bank Series". The series is made of dozens of figures, vehicles and playsets that are sized to scale. Since the figures in the series are quite small to accomodate the forecoming massive playsets, the vehicles are quite small as well.

Side Phantom actually had no problem fitting the Metalder figure. This may be a problem among other toy lines where the figures don't quite match up with figures, but not here. With a little bit of wrangling, Metalder is a perfect fit. The sidecar however, is a very tight fit for most figures.

I have to say that the likeness is pretty good. The toy Side Phantom doesn't really need to have the decals applied, which is always a plus in my book. Definitely no complaints with the likeness.

This toy was released in the VR Troopers line by Kenner toys. It's of a completely different mold, however, as it had to accomodate the larger VR Trooper figures. The likeness is pretty far off on the VR Trooper bike as well. Stick with Bandai Japan on this one.
