Force 12 storm dies down to this Force 11 off coast of Isle Of Wight. Already had Force 11 and fire in Bay of Biscay 2 days before. This is footage of our cabin TV showing the ships bow taken by the bridge video camera. I was laid in bed holding the camera as still as I could.

  • Also, for the passengers that were probably affected that day, this was the day we were late docking in Dover coz the port was closed due to the weather. Then we smashed into the tug boat while attempting to dock and put a big indent in the side of the ship.

  • Just to clear some stuff up. This video was taken in our cabin in the morning. That is a TV tuned to the bridge camera channel that all cabins have. We are musicians from a band that worked on there for 2 years and have worked on cruise ships for around 10 years. This is not fake (lol), the captain is indeed from Norway and as you can hear from the captain it was indeed a force 11. We had force 12 the day before in the bay of biscay and a fire to top things off.

  • @BigHrdB no i wasn't THERE, but i have been at sea for 35 years. That is not force 11, at the very most its force 6 or 7.

  • Rubbish, that's not a gale, more like a breeze.

  • @johnkeys ee my friend watch the video "Tanker in big storm" and you will see what is force 11... this is nothing this is 8

  • No way was this a 5, more like 10-11 like Mark says.

    Beaufort scale says ;

    Force 5 = Fresh breeze - wind, 18-24mph - Moderate waves of some length. Many whitecaps. Small amounts of spray

    FORCE 10 = Whole gale - wind, 55-63mph - Very high waves with overhanging crests. Large patches of foam from wave crests give the sea a white appearance. Considerable tumbling of waves with heavy impact. Large amounts of airborne spray reduce visibility.

    Glad I was not there!!

  • this is 8

  • well, if you guys could just understand other dialects, they won't be having a hard time speaking other dialects. :)
