We lost 4 million JObs in 08 under Bush, 3.6 million in 09 under Obama, and after just 1 year in office, Obama completely stopped these job losses and created more private sector jobs in 2010 than BUsh did over his entire presidency. @TradingTutor The president by himself has no power to affect employment. But our federal government in cooperation with the federal reserve can stimulate demand (even if only temporarily) through fiscal and monetary policy that forces companies to invest in capital and labor to meet this demand. This investment by private enterprise creates a second boost to demand both for materials and from workers who now have income to spend forcing industries to invest yet again. Macroeconomics101

Bah economists are so useless that nobody's sure what's the best thing to do in a recession. These guys are clowns yes, but I wouldn't call them clowns because of what they think of economics, since most of economics is more politics than science.

@durhamdf I don't see any relation with unemployment and the President. What does the President do, or what can he even do to create jobs (excluding public spending, which makes more debt)? That's up to the private sector. In 08 was when the financial crisis started, independently of the President there would be many job losses. And how exactly did Obama stop the unemployment from growing? Are you sure that it wasn't just because the economy is better now and so companies start hiring again?

@lovejen01 (contd)... this is a typical conservative tactic, can't defeat soemthing in congress, just water it down so that the bill will fail to have its desired effect and then they just say "hey see we were right it didn't work" Just like they stole from social security to fund their own programs only to turn around a decade later saying "look social security is a failure" And sheep like you buy right into it. Obama ran on these policies, anyone who was surprised is a fucking retard.
