Filmed in Colorado Spring in 1958 by Ralph Papin, this documentary sponsored by Seven-Up features this annual event for girl scouts from around the world.
I was there in Colorado Springs in 1959. Our patrol flew to New York City from Puerto Rico and we were sponsored by a troop from Orange County, New Jersey. We needed some heavy gear, I believe it was tents and cooking wares, and this troop provided us with these. We were very grateful. We then took the train in Orange County and this has been certainly one of the most memorable events of my life. Sarah González-Keelan
I was there, we went by train, it was 1959, the Air Force Academy was new and across the road. The National Guard set up the latrine tents and other large tents.
It was only held every three years and not very many. Reunion are held. Our talent was blanket toss and our cooking skill was fritters. Hawaii became a state on my birthday.
I was one of the 10,000 in Colorado in 1959 and visited Colorado Springs in 2008 amazing what 49 years can do a freeway now runs through the site. Thanks so much for the video it sure brings back memories! Made a scrap book of all the swap items and will get them out and look again. Thanks Again!!!
We're having a reunion in Colorado in the summer of 2009 for participants in any and all of the Senior Roundups. Our last reunion, held in Vermont, drew about 150 participants from the 1956 (Michigan), 1959 (Colorado), 1962 (Vermont) and 1965 (Idaho) Senior Girl Scout Roundups. Great opportunity for making new friends and keeping the old!

I hope my Daughter Isabella (3) can enjoy something like this, in Colorado, or even Wyoming (Yellowstone).
I Love You Isabella-Love Daddy!

I also was there in '59. Sure would have liked to have attended the reunion. All 8 of my troop that attended are still alive and well.
