- Captain Cousteaus Calypso was designed to serve as both a filming platform and a research vessel. Her crew and her laboratories were dedicated to better understanding of the underwater world. The scientists who sailed aboard on every expedition were able to carry out projects ranging from traditional water sampling to testing the most advanced technological devices. From biologists to engineers, they have come from the world over to join Cousteau teams.
- La Calypso du Commandant Cousteau était conçue pour servir à la fois de plate-forme de tournage et de vaisseau de recherche. Son équipage et ses laboratoires étaient dédiés à l'étude du monde sous-marin. Les scientifiques qui participaient à chaque expédition pouvaient travailler sur des projets allant des tests traditionnels sur l'eau aux essais d'appareils technologiques ultra sophistiqués. Des biologistes aux ingénieurs, nombreux sont ceux qui sont venus rejoindre les équipes du Commandant Cousteau.
