  • Hello Dellis42:

I was wonder what brand of backing plate you are using with that Flex 3403. I got my PE14-2 back in summer that's all I use most of the time. I still use my 3401 on some jobs. Have you tried the new Optimum microfiber polishing pads?

  • @ww2717 - My apologies to you for the late reply, I try to reply to as many posts on here and forums as possible but at times I forget. That particular bp was a beta plate from Lake Country. I still use it and love the flex it gives my pads and polishing surface. In regards to the Opt MF pads, yes we have been beta testing them for a bit now and we love them. The key is to really work the product your using them with. They don't work or cut fast. Take care

  • LOL, I love all the retards trying to correct you. I thought the same thing to appetite's reply; another forum junkie giving his two cents that has never detailed more than his mom's car. And someone who probably doesn't even own a rotary or orbital trying to correct the type of polisher you're using! LOL, you can listen and tell which is a rotary and orbital, looking at it should be easy! Good job.

  • @badquenga , sadly a good deal of people come into my shop and upon the questions they ask I can tell they have spent time on some forum and think they can now tell me how to do detailing, what products to use and how to use them. Detailing forums are nice but they are full of weekend warriors who think they know it all should be researched.

Hello, Yes the Flex machines are very nice and I am also a Metabo fan. There is no need to prime the pads prior to use as I have found that excess product can build up on the "blades" and then be released on raised parts and edges. I usually start with a quarter size amount of product for my first panel then a nickel size amount after that. After several panels I will wash and rinse pad. Happy Detailing!

  • @Dellis42 just got my FLEX pe14-2-150 after using my Metabo for 5 years, The FLEX is an absolute night and day difference and I wish they had this technology back then. It is nice and quiet and very light. Ive been using CCS pads for years and just picked up the Kompressor pads and wanted to see how to use them.

Do you prime them before hand?

    Great work!

  • @appetitefordynamite - The polisher is a FLEX, a wonderful and well built machine. I do not center the pad because there is NO CENTERING hole. It's a full faced pad which is centered from the backside. Applying even pressure is not necessary at all times. Perhaps you have been reading too many detail forums and now advise others from your armchair?

  • This guy has NO F. idea what he's doing. I wouldn't let him touch a car. Plus his polisher is a piece of garbage. He doesn't even center his pad on the machine and he polishes without using even pressure on the pad. AMATEUR. Five and a half minutes to screw up one square foot area. I can't take it.

  • We hit it off so well after another visit busizz4me.info
