Bremond Bay Competition - May Highlights

A remix of video from the May competition at the T-n-T Bay Pen in Bremond, TX. There were some great dogs I caught on film and a lot of great dogs I missed. Just make sure you catch the last clip for a good laugh!

Bay competitions are similar to herding trials. One or two dogs works to control a feral hog in a pen. They are judged on style, intensity and focus. Catching and holding is a disqualification.

If you are interested in coming to the next bay competition in Bremond, it will be the TDHA Championship Bay on June 20. All proceeds will benefit dog hunters in Texas. You can get more details at http://www.tdha.org.

The blue dog baying in the first clip is a black and blue leopard Catahoula. And he was huge, even for a Cat, but he was very cool to watch.

They are called Bay dogs to keep the hog at bay! The Hunter kills the pig... these are just trails though.

@shupakku I guess thats why they call it baying, keeping the animal at bay, while on the hunt. I think they should throw a mountain lion in there and make it exciting
