This is a great video...I know you were pushing that CTR about 85 to 100% most of the time. Hard on the brakes and WOT off the apex on the straights...I have seen many 333sp's..these guys were pampering them around....again...Great video

i love F333 and F50 gt ,F40 lm , Fxx , and Gto evoluzione.

Wow, this is one long commercial.

To give everyone some perspective, a stock f40 will also put up times around 1.55 on Daytona with high performance street tires. Both the Ruf and the f40 are great cars, and both classics.

awd like my wrx. love awd

good driving nice to see somebody knows what a ruf is and i have heard that a ruf take's a lot of finesse

@GRN02 Wow you are a moron, "meant to go fast in a straight line" ?? This is not a Camaro you retard, Porsches are race inspired cars ... RUF is beyond that. This is a street legal race car you dumb ass. I'm sure a driver going all out in the 333SP could have done it better justice, but the CTR2 Sport is no "hot rod", get your head out of your ass.

GRN02 has been informed, haha.
the 333sp does about 1 min 10 secs at mosport..if ur ref can do 1m 20 sec, u have a supercar....i dont think it can, can it do 1 min 20 secs?

Mosport is not a track I run, and the only time I have run it since they redid it was on a cold and raining day - so no hot laps. A more famous track would be Daytona, and the car turns 1:55s there...but realize that that is with me driving.

Sorry to break it to you but, if you thought you were 'hanging' with a 333sp, you are bitterly mistaken. I give the RUF credit, but its a 'hot rod' - meant to go fast in a straight line with lots of horsepower. Comparing it to a race-bred 333, one of the world's (at the time) finest race cars is a bit of a stretch. If you kept up with them, its because they were backing off. Put Didier Theys or Mauro Baldi in one, and Im sure they would have lapped you in a few minutes. But thanks for the video.

I am sure they would. Im old and slowjust like most of us out there running these types of track events. But put Didier in the 333SP and Mauro in the RUF (or visa versa) and the result would be the similar. The CTR2sport is certainly a Hot Rod based on RUFs great torque curve. But if you mean Hot Rod in the derogatory sense, assuming that the CTR2sport does not offer the total package, you are in good companyread on

Brian Redman the great British sports car and F1 racer was the race organizer for big Porsche Rennsport Reunion race at Daytona in 2004. He too when looking at the RUF entry, grouped it with the other production-based, Porsche GT race cars. But after the first day of practice found the performance differential to be so great as to be dangerous, so he pulled it out of the GT class and moved it all the way up to the Prototype class.

That year the prototype class consisted of twenty-one 962s/956s, eighteen 934s/935s, and out of a field of 60 prototypes, the RUF qualified 15, finished the race 12.
The editor of Grassroots Motorsports heard about this in disbelief, so he made a point to attend the next Rennsport (which as 2007) to witness it for himself. Catch the story in the current issue (Feb 09) for confirmation that RUFs got the goods and that a Rennsport race is not about parade laps.
