VIrginia Zeani as Floria Tosca prays to God to help her save her lover, Mario Cavaradossi, from the clutches of the evil Baron Scarpia.

This is one of a series of movies of Mme Zeani filmed for RAI TV to a pre-recorded sound track. Though fine accounts of the arias and invaluable as a visual record, being mimed, they do not fully represent her compelling and impetuous dramatic gifts.

Four genuinely live tracks, from Aida, Mefistofele and "La Voix Humaine", are posted on this Channel and are an even more faithful record of this great singer.

How right you are! Yet of the singers you mention Zeani is the only one overlooked time and again by the record companies. Thanks to YouTube and many live, off air recordings she is restored to her rightful position with the very greatest 20th century singers.
