Here is a short video I created for the Savannah College of Art & Design Senior Industrial Design Show in June 2006. I basically just went around the Gulfstream Center for Design asking students "What is Industrial Design." Keep in mind this was shot during finals, so most of these kids have been up for 36 hours plus.

I think there are different types of industrial design, the more technical part and the aesthetical part... its a very open career , u can work in any field, furniture, high tech, mechanical ingeneering, clothes making, even interior architecture. u will learn about form, manufacturing processes, art, connotation of the product, functionality... etc.. i think its too open some times u dont know where to run.. heheh

"not in school yet..." if your thinking design DON"T! I graduated from a design school (not this one) but other for Industrial D. and the job market is TERRIABLE in the US for this profession save yourself from the headache. Go into something more "main stream". want to be happy, steady and have money. Do something with accounting or health.. Engineering and industrial is DEAD in US>
It does. It's accredited by "Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools", which in turn is supported by CHEA, which is a private National accreditation institution.
