"The artist"
Brian Peter George St. John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno (born 15 May 1948), commonly known as Brian Eno, is an English musician, composer, record producer, music theorist and singer, who, as a solo artist, is best known as the father of ambient music.

"The Album"
Here Come the Warm Jets is the debut solo album by Brian Eno. Produced by Eno, it was released on Island Records in 1973. The musical style of Here Come the Warm Jets is a hybrid of glam rock and art rock, similar to Eno's previous album work with Roxy Music but with songs that are more quirky and experimental. The album features various guest musicians, including Fripp, members of Roxy Music, Hawkwind, Matching Mole, and The Pink Fairies. In developing the album's words and music, Eno used abstract methods such as dancing for his band members and having them play accordingly, and singing nonsense words to himself that would form the basis of subsequent lyrics. Here Come the Warm Jets peaked at number 26 on the United Kingdom album charts and number 151 on the U.S. Billboard charts, receiving a number of positive reviews. It was re-issued on compact disc in 1990 on Island Records and in 2004 on Virgin Records, and continued to elicit praise. Critic Steve Huey of Allmusic stated that the album "still sounds exciting, forward-looking, and densely detailed, revealing more intricacies with every play"

  • Eno was working a lot with Hawkwind's Robert Calvert from 73-75, Simon King is the Drummer here and the Hawkwind chugga chugga sound is evident. Roxy lost a lot when Eno left.

  • Excellent track, great opener to a top album

  • I love this song!!!.... But I must ask, who actually stared at the camel for the entire video?

  • I was 16 years old in 1974. I couldn't stand the "mellow", "take it easy" boring music of the Eagles, Elton John, and Paul McCartney & Wings. So glad I got hooked on Brian Eno and David Bowie before I graduated from high school ! "Needle In the Camel's Eye" could be considered the embryo of Punk Rock music.

  • people dont get the title?

  • is it not time for another eno/bowie get together!

  • Great fucking album.

  • who else was looking for a needle in a camles eye

  • One of my favourite Eno tracks. Gotta love the simon king drumming!

  • The song is a play on Matthew 19:24 of The Bible, which states “again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of god".
